Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking an Application Development Manager to lead the Application Development team, oversee delivery coordination, and contribute hands‑on software development. The role involves APIs, Azure, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform, with a focus on quality, security, and stakeholder collaboration.

You will prioritize work, mentor team members, and align development practices with organizational goals across multiple locations, including Newton, NJ.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in application development, enterprise applications & system integration.
• 3+ years of experience leading technical teams, coordinating application delivery, or as a technical lead.
• Hands-on experience with APIs, cloud services, Azure Functions, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, or related Microsoft technologies.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies, SDLC practices, CI/CD, testing, release management, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Application Development team, including work coordination and delivery follow-up.
• Coach and support team members across development, QA, integrations, automation, and low-code development.
• Establish team operating cadence with regular check-ins, meetings, and status updates.
• Coordinate work intake, prioritization, resource planning, and delivery tracking across projects and production issues.
• Perform hands-on software development and integration work as needed to support delivery and issues.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and stakeholders to clarify requirements and align priorities.
• Promote software development lifecycle best practices, including documentation, code reviews, and CI/CD.
