Old Dominion Freight Line is hiring an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align projects with IT standards, and deliver enterprise solutions. You will architect, mentor, and contribute code while ensuring design integrity across applications.

The role blends design leadership with hands-on delivery, requiring strong communication and collaboration with architects, developers, and business users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on projects implementing SDLC.
• 3 years in systems analysis with high level design.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design/implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; supports transitions to high level design.
• Reviews development or modification of highly complex, enterprise software solutions.
• 50/50 role balancing design/mentorship/leadership with hands-on coding.
• Develops and validates complex software design prototypes adhering to standards.
• Guides technical direction for development and integration projects.
• Ensures requirements, design, and test scripts are documented for enhancements.
• Leads code management and production deployment processes in line with IT policies.
• Mentors and advises team members on methodologies, policies, and controls.
• Offers options and cost-benefit analysis for software solution designs.
