Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align projects with IT design standards, and deliver complex enterprise solutions. You will balance architecture, mentorship, and hands-on coding while collaborating with architects, developers, and business users to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of development lifecycles, and experience with RPG, Java, SQL, and APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of database technologies experience.
• 5+ years on SDLC projects.
• 3+ years of systems analysis and high level design.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specs; support high-level design.
• Review development/modification of enterprise software solutions.
• Balance design/mentorship with hands-on code delivery (50/50).
• Develop and validate complex software designs adhering to standards.
• Lead and mentor team members, guiding technical direction and decisions.
• Ensure documentation of requirements, design, and test scripts for enhancements.
