Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align solutions with IT standards, and deliver robust enterprise software. You’ll mentor teams, contribute code, and design complex systems while ensuring architectural compliance.

The role emphasizes leadership, strong communication, and hands-on delivery of code across multiple projects with a focus on scalable solutions and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on projects involving SDLC.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis with high level design.
• Experience in RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; supports design and transition to high level design.
• Reviews development or modification of highly complex enterprise software solutions.
• 50/50 role: design/mentorship and hands-on delivery of code.
• Develops and validates complex software design prototypes; ensures adherence to architecture standards.
• Leverages technical direction for development and integration of enterprise solutions.
• Ensures documentation of requirements, design, and test scripts for enhancements.
• Leads project teams through implementation and maintenance of software solutions.
