Job summary

Brainlab is seeking a field-based Biomedical Engineer to support image-guided surgery products across the Southwest US. Based in Arizona, New Mexico, or Las Vegas metro, you will perform on-site clinical evaluations, educate OR staff, and lead installations to maximize product usage and revenue from service contracts.

You will collaborate with Account Managers, travel ~50% regionally, and contribute to product improvement with engineering insights while promoting Brainlab solutions at trade

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Biomedical Innovation, Bioengineering, Clinical Engineering, or Nursing.
• 6 months experience in a technical support role for a healthcare company or provider.

• Provide on-site consulting to physicians and OR personnel to maximize IGS usage.
• Lead installations and educate hospital staff on IGS products.
• Utilize engineering expertise to contribute to quality improvements.
• Act as primary liaison, maintaining site visits and driving service contracts revenue.
• Strategize with Account Manager to evaluate opportunities.
• Resolve product issues through engineering input and analysis.
• Promote surgery products at trade shows.
• 50% regional travel.

Job Description

Home worksite (must be based in Arizona, New Mexico, or Las Vegas metro area)

• Conduct on-site clinical evaluations to demonstrate the use of products and services to increase the frequency and quality of image-guided surgery (IGS) product usage
• Provide on-site consulting, guidance, and assistance to physicians and OR personnel by evaluating options and problem-solving during surgery in order to maximize IGS efficiency and usage
• Lead installations and establish functionality at new and existing customer sites; educate/train physicians and hospital personnel, including OR staff, Radiology, Central Sterile Processing, Biomedical and Information Technologies staff, on the use of IGS products and services
• Utilize engineering expertise to contribute to the quality improvement process by recommending product modifications
• Act as primary customer liaison, maintaining site visits and regular contact with customers, assessing satisfaction and usage levels, and working to increase revenue via the sale of service contracts, spare/wear parts, upgrades, etc.
• Regularly strategize with the Account Manager in your region to evaluate customer opportunities and open sales projects
• Resolve product issues through detailed analysis and utilization of engineering expertise
• Promote surgery products and services to surgeons at trade shows.
• 50% regional travel.
