DHTS APPLICATION ANALYST (EPIC INPATIENT)

The Application Analyst is responsible for the development, deployment, support, product design, and testing cycles of the Maestro Care (Epic) Inpatient Electronic Health Record (EHR). This includes planning, managing, and supporting application users within the Duke environment. Modules supported include Clinical Documentation, Orders, Emergency, Obstetrics, and Home Care and Hospice.

The analyst will work closely with Epic and other Maestro Care staff to execute deployment tasks, interpret clinical workflows, and participate in application build, testing, and support. They will also provide training and act as an expert on Maestro Care Inpatient EHR functionalities, updating test plans, and participating in design and specification reviews for new features and bug fixes. Managing user access and tracking changes are also part of the responsibilities.

This is a fully remote position with a 24-hour on-call rotation. Hours are 8 am-5 pm, varying with the rotation schedule.

The analyst may need Epic certification in supported modules, as determined by the manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or a clinical field, or equivalent clinical or IT experience.
  • Clinical experience in an inpatient or acute setting is preferred.
Experience Levels
  • Level 1: One year of related experience.
  • Level 2: Three years of related experience.
  • Level 3: Five or more years of related experience.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Level 1: Maintenance of North Carolina licensure or certification in a related clinical discipline.
  • Levels 2 and 3: Epic certifications in ClinDoc, Orders, ASAP, Stork, or DoCo are required.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform system support, troubleshooting, configuration, and testing of Epic software.
  • Develop and execute test plans, manage documentation, and support deployment processes.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and team members.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and participate in project planning and execution.
