Job summary

Horizon Industries Limited, a Washington, DC area IT and management consulting firm, seeks a Business Analyst (Appian) for a full-time remote role supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The position requires US citizenship and allows occasional travel; you will collaborate with Product Owners, document criteria, and guide developers.

Qualifications

• Provide detailed, comprehensive, testable, and traceable process components in several formats, including but not limited to Business Requirements, Functional Requirements, Data Requirements, System Software Specifications, and Use Cases.
• Translate business process needs into technical requirements, provide change management and training support.
• Five (5) years of current experience in business process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation efforts, change management, and training support.

Responsibilities

• Review user stories in backlog; gain a solid understanding of the changes needed.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to understand user stories and updates needed.
• Document acceptance criteria for user stories and bug tickets.
• Help Developers understand the user stories and acceptance criteria, and lead discussions of new functionality.
• Test user stories and ensure that testing is appropriately documented, with evidence recorded.
• Serve as scrum master/ lead daily scrums.
• Develop an agenda for backlog grooming session; get concurrence with Product Owners.
• Lead backlog grooming sessions with Product Owners.
• Lead demo day and introduce stories to the Product Owners
• Train stakeholders on new functionality
• Document business processes and changes
