Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Team Captain – Apparel to lead the Apparel department and coach teammates to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will drive sales, ensure athletes feel confident in their selections, and uphold merchandising standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

As a leader, you’ll recruit, onboard, and develop staff, manage schedules, and collaborate with store leadership to meet financial goals while maintaining an inclusive, high-energy team culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of retail or customer-facing experience.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to coach and develop teammates.

Responsibilities

• Lead apparel team to deliver engaging shopping experiences rooted in product knowledge.
• Coach teammates, hire, onboard, and develop staff for optimal performance.
• Create schedules and allocate work to meet athlete traffic while controlling payroll.
• Drive store goals through strong leadership, merchandising, and customer service.
