Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an experienced API Technical Writer to lead the creation, maintenance, and evolution of high‑quality API documentation and related technical content. The role partners with software engineers, solution experts, product owners, and support teams to ensure accuracy, usability, and adoption across developer audiences.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an API Technical Writer or similar role focused on software documentation.
Experience creating and maintaining API documentation for technical audiences.
Strong understanding of APIs, web services, and software development concepts.
Ability to translate complex information into concise, clear documentation.
Experience collaborating with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and improve comprehensive API documentation, including endpoints, parameters, authentication, sample code, and release notes.
Translate complex API concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation for internal and external audiences.
Review existing docs to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Develop documentation backlog and roadmap to enhance usability and adoption.
Partner with engineers, solution experts, and product stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy.
Create tutorials, onboarding materials, and knowledge articles to facilitate API adoption.
