Job summary

Avalore.ai is seeking an API Architect to define and maintain APIs and technical standards for the WDP System. You will ensure interoperability across components and with external systems, aligning with DoD policies and reference designs.

You will design API specifications, establish lifecycle governance, and produce developer docs to enable adoption, while monitoring usage, implementing versioning, and collaborating with security teams to ensure API security.

Qualifications

• SECRET security clearance required.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Multiple levels available: Junior (0–3y), Journeyman (4–7y), Senior (8+y).
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Job description

The API Architectwill define, document, maintain, and promulgate the APIs and technical standards for the WDP System. This person will ensure that the platform can interoperate effectively within its own components and with external systems, ensuring all standards align with DoD policies and reference designs. This person will design and document API specifications using industry-standard formats, establish governance processes for API lifecycle management, and create developer documentation and examples to facilitate API adoption. This person will monitor API usage and performance metrics, implement versioning strategies to support backward compatibility, and collaborate with security teams to ensure API security. This person will evaluate emerging technologies and standards for potential adoption, participate in technical working groups to influence industry standards, and provide technical guidance on API best practices to development teams.

Requirements

• SECRET Security Clearance Required
• SecurityX / CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP, FITSP-D, GDSA, or GSEC cerification (for Junior / Journeyman roles)
• CISSO, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, GCIA, GCLD, GCSA, or GICSP certification (for Senior role)
• We are actively seeking multiple levels:
  • Junior: 0 - 3 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
  • Journeyman: 4 - 7 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
  • Senior: 8+ years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
• Good communication skills, self-starter mindset
• Professional proficiency in English is required
• Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications

Work Environment

• Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
