Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) seeks an experienced Nurse Manager (RN) to lead one or more inpatient or ambulatory units. You will oversee operations, staffing, quality, and fiscal management to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in alignment with our practice model.

You will influence staff development, engage interdisciplinary teams, and drive performance improvements to optimize clinical outcomes and patient experience across the facility.

Qualifications

• BSN required with Oregon RN license.
• At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a related specialty.
• At least 1 year of recent leadership experience (e.g., charge nurse).
• Ability to manage complex operations in a large healthcare environment.
• Unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
• BLS for healthcare providers required.
• Professional certification in nursing leadership (e.g., NE-BC, CNML) required within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Strategic & Program Planning — lead short and long-term goals aligned with priorities and engage staff in improvement initiatives.
• Operational Leadership — manage daily operations, patient flow, and collaboration across units.
• Financial & Resource Management — monitor budgets and staffing plans to ensure sustainability.
• Human Resources & Staff Development — recruit, coach, and develop staff and emerging leaders.
• Quality, Safety & Performance Improvement — implement and evaluate safety and practice improvements.
• Professional Practice & Collaboration — model ethical nursing practice and partner with interdisciplinary teams.
