Kay Apartment Communities in West Hyattsville, MD is seeking a skilled service technician to maintain our 665-unit community and deliver exceptional resident service. The role reports to the community manager and requires hands-on maintenance across plumbing, electrical, appliances, and carpentry.

You will perform turnovers, inspections, preventative maintenance, and responsive repairs, respond to emergency calls within 30 minutes when on call, and work with a team to keep our properties safe

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of apartment maintenance experience, including plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, minor HVAC.
• Experience in apartment turnovers.
• Adhere to safe work practices.
• HVAC and CFC certifications preferred.
• Ability to work independently and professionally.
• Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• On-call availability with 30-minute response; occasional extended hours.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Own hand tools.
• Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and communicate with residents per company policies.
• Complete maintenance work, service requests, turnovers, building inspections and preventative maintenance as requested.
• Service, repair, replace and install items such as stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, disposals, fixtures; toilets and fixtures; drains; electrical; lighting; carpentry; doors; flooring.
• Complete service and repair requests safely, promptly and professionally.
• Prepare apartments for move-in on a specified schedule.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as required by the community.
• Maintain all company-owned equipment in good working condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
