Job summary

PeakMade Real Estate is seeking a Maintenance Technician for an assigned Chicago-area property. You will perform a range of maintenance tasks, address service requests, and support preventative maintenance while delivering strong customer service to residents.

Ideal candidates have HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repair abilities, with a willingness to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays. The role includes on-call responsibilities and collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment industry.
• EPA certification Type I and II preferred.
• Must live within 30 miles of the assigned property.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule as required.
• Other licenses and certifications as required by local, state or federal law.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances and all other systems at community.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests and repairs thoroughly and promptly.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with inventory management of equipment, tools and supplies.
• Maintain excellent customer service standards.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedule.
• Communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Adhere to budget guidelines and preventive maintenance programs.
• Assist with safety/hazard communications program.
• Inspect grounds and buildings to minimize liability.
• Maintain condition of community per safety standards.
• Support move-in/move-out process and maintenance turns.
• Perform scheduled maintenance per manufacturer manuals.
• Address complaints and document outcomes.
• Maintain records and upkeep of offices and common areas.
• Support exterior grounds and pool maintenance with logs.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergencies.
