Job summary

MAA is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician in the Richmond area to maintain and repair multifamily properties. You will diagnose and fix HVAC systems, electrical appliances, plumbing, and locks, while preparing units for move-in and performing routine preventative maintenance.

This role requires HVAC experience, 1–3 years in related fields, EPA Type II or Universal certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days), and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in multifamily property management or maintenance.
• HVAC experience required.
• EPA Type II or EPA Universal required at hire or within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs to keep apartment homes and property facilities in good working order.
• Prepare apartments for move-in; diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units, appliances, outlets, lighting, plumbing, carpentry, and locks.
• Follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule and document completed work.
• Follow up with residents after repairs are complete.
