Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking a capable Maintenance Technician to support our apartment communities in Grapevine, TX. You will handle regular maintenance requests, perform repairs on appliances, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, and prepare units for new residents.

Strong problem-solving and a valid driver's license are required. The role includes after-hours emergency response, housekeeping duties as needed, and collaboration with the Maintenance Manager to control costs and

Qualifications

• 1-3 years maintenance experience (apartment maintenance preferred).
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Budget or basic business finance helpful.
• Refrigeration certification (type 2 or universal) or obtain in the first 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license (free from major moving violations) and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance requests, preventative maintenance, and amenity area upkeep for the apartment community.
• Complete maintenance work orders for residents (appliances, plumbing, HVAC, minor electrical, gate systems, pool operations).
• Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance after-hours calls (weeknights, weekends, holidays).
• Prepare vacant apartments to make rent ready and perform preventative maintenance.
• Keep the maintenance shop clean and organized; maintain stock of parts.
