Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities in Arlington, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle repairs and prepare units for occupancy. You will respond to urgent issues during evenings, weekends, and holidays with a focus on safe, efficient service.

The role requires 1–3 years of maintenance experience, refrigeration certification, a valid driver’s license, and physical ability to lift and move heavy objects. We offer benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years maintenance experience with troubleshooting abilities; apartment maintenance preferred.
• Refrigeration certification (Type II or Universal) required or within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and clean driving record.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, move 300+ lb items on wheels, climb 40-ft ladders, and use hand tools/test equipment/hand trucks.
• Ability to move heavy equipment (100–300+ lbs) including stairs when required.
• Comfort working at heights and in varied conditions while performing repairs and resident tasks.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests including repairs to appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, gates, pools, and facilities.
• Respond to emergency calls during evenings, weekends, and holidays to resolve urgent issues.
• Prepare vacant units by completing tasks to make apartments rent-ready.
• Maintain facilities and inventory by organizing shops, stocking parts, and keeping amenity areas clean.
• Provide resident support through professional communication, addressing complaints, delivering notices, and assisting with events.
• Handle administrative and contractor tasks such as logging service requests, updating databases, and monitoring vendor performance.
