Qualifications

Job description

We're looking for an APARTMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN to join our team at Villa West Apartments in Topeka, Kansas. This hands-on role involves make-readies, work-orders, grounds maintenance, and shared on-call duties (once a month). HVAC repair experience is preferred.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM
• No weekends, on-call once every three weeks
• Paid time off: 80 hours in the first year, plus paid holidays

Compensation:

• $22-24 per hour, full-time, based on experience
• Full benefits, bonuses, and a 20% rent discount
• Quarterly bonuses up to $750, totaling $3,000 annually
• $100 weekly on-call bonus and paid time for emergency calls

Responsibilities:

• Complete work orders promptly
• Prepare units between tenants
• Paint and stain interiors and exteriors
• Manage preventative maintenance
• Exterior structural repairs
• Emergency cell phone coverage
• Snow removal and pool maintenance (if applicable)
• Housing inspection experience is a plus

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years in maintenance, 6 months in apartment maintenance
• Experience with drywall, painting, carpentry
• Basic plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, and water heater knowledge
• Strong customer service skills
• Willingness to undergo safety training

A physical demonstration of your skills will be required during the interview.
