Job summary

Park Property Management Company is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician for The Coves in Palmyra, VA. You will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in keeping the property in top condition, handling plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs, plus exterior upkeep.

You will respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis, maintain accurate maintenance records, and support a welcoming living environment for residents. HVAC certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Caring attitude and pride in work.
• Self-motivated, hard-working and energetic.
• Experience in apartment maintenance or related field preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Skilled with power tools and basic technology (computers/tablets).
• Good people skills and friendly demeanor.
• Able to lift/carry up to 75 lbs frequently.
• Strong record-keeping and organization.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to rotate after-hours on-call and weekends.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician at The Coves in Palmyra, VA, you will be a key member of our team assisting the Maintenance Supervisor and ensuring our property is in top-notch physical condition, inside and out. A typical day could include plumbing, electrical, basic drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs, plus common area and exterior maintenance and repairs, respond to after-hours emergencies, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs
• Maintain common areas and exteriors to the highest standards
• Respond to after-hours emergencies (on-call rotation required)
• Delegate tasks to maintenance assistants and ensure timely completion
• Maintain accurate records for work orders, parts, inventory, and service follow-up
• Foster a positive, customer-focused environment for residents and team members
• Participate in ongoing training and mentorship through "The Park Academy"
• Other duties as assigned
