About the Role

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician at The Local in Winchester, VA, you will be a key member of our team assisting the Maintenance Supervisor and ensuring our property is in top‑notch physical condition, inside and out. A typical day could include plumbing, electrical, basic drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs, plus common area and exterior maintenance and repairs, respond to after‑hours emergencies, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs
• Maintain common areas and exteriors to the highest standards
• Respond to after‑hours emergencies (on‑call rotation required)
• Delegate tasks to maintenance assistants and ensure timely completionMaintain accurate records for work orders, parts, inventory, and service follow‑up
• Foster a positive, customer‑focused environment for residents and team members
• Participate in ongoing training and mentorship through "The Park Academy"
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• HVAC certification preferred
• Skilled in using power tools and basic technology (computers/tablets)
• Good people skills, friendly and helpful attitude
• Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. frequently
• Strong record‑keeping and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license
• Rotating after‑hours on‑call availability and weekends
