National Community Renaissance (CORE) is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician (also known as Resident Services Technician or "RST") to join our Property Management team. CORE is one of the nation's largest non-profit affordable housing developers with over 30 years of experience in community revitalization. We aim to improve the economic and social future of communities by building quality, affordable housing complemented by social services to enhance resident self-sufficiency.

About The Job

The Resident Services Technician reports to the Community Manager and Resident Services Supervisor. Under supervision, this role assists in the overall maintenance of the property.

Desired Skills

Basic to intermediate knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds work.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in maintenance projects and training.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, and outlets.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs such as clearing drains and replacing fittings.
  • Replace broken tiles, screens, fixtures, appliances, blinds, and locks.
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces as directed.
  • Assist with carpentry tasks like fitting doors, replacing windows, and building shelves.
  • Support custodial duties, including cleaning and window washing.
  • Assist groundskeeping and repair work on concrete, masonry, roofing, fencing, and signage.
  • Participate in emergency standby schedules.
  • Manage inventory and maintain shop facilities.
  • Complete work orders promptly and report status daily.
  • Help with apartment inspections and turnovers.
  • Maintain knowledge of vendor contracts and community conditions.
  • Ensure safety protocols and proper security of storage areas.
  • Assist with move-in/move-out inspections.
  • Possess valid California driver’s license and insurance or reliable transportation.
  • Attend company events and communicate effectively with residents and team members.

Experience & Education
  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience in property management or related fields; 2+ preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3+ years relevant experience with technical certifications.
Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to weather conditions.
  • Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, crawling, kneeling, twisting, carrying, and working with hands.
  • Driving and operating office equipment.

FSLA: Non-exempt

Pay: $20 - $20.50/hr
