Job summary

SMC is seeking a Service Technician in Gaithersburg, MD for a full-time role to ensure assets meet company standards and laws. You will diagnose problems and perform repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry, appliances and more.

You will conduct preventive maintenance, document service requests, maintain tools, and participate in on-call rotations while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in maintenance related fields.
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
• Successful completion of other basic maintenance classes offered internally and on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Assist with inventory maintenance.
• Diagnose heat problems and repair or replace components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC units.
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.

• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist.
• Address emergency maintenance as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We're seeking a Service Technician with a whatever-it-takes approach to join our team! In this full-time role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the physical asset meets both company standards and applicable laws. As technician, you'll diagnose problems and make repairs. You will provide hands-on trouble-shooting in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structure, tiling, masonry and appliances.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

• Address, follow up and document service requests


• Assist with inventory maintenance
