Location: West Phoenix, AZ (100% Onsite)
Compensation: $24–$29/hr DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00–3:30 or 7:30–4:00
Position Overview
A family-owned construction company is seeking an AP / Payroll Specialist to support a growing accounting and payroll team.
This role is approximately 50–60% Accounts Payable and 40–50% Payroll Support, making it an ideal opportunity for someone with strong AP experience who is interested in expanding their payroll knowledge. The company is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is willing to learn.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and expense transactions
- Review and code invoices accurately
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Work with purchasing and operations teams to resolve payment or receiving issues
- Process utility bills, recurring expenses, and vendor invoices
- Support month-end accounting activities
- Maintain accurate AP records and supporting documentation
Payroll Responsibilities
- Assist with weekly payroll processing for approximately 200 employees
- Support payroll reporting and spreadsheet tracking
- Work with timekeeping data and payroll records
- Assist with payroll adjustments and payroll-related administrative functions
- Help ensure payroll accuracy and timely processing
Required Qualifications
- Accounts Payable experience required
- ERP system experience required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Dependable attendance and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction industry experience
- Payroll processing experience
- Piece-rate payroll exposure
- Deltek / ComputerEase experience or similar construction ERP systems
