Jobot is seeking a seasoned AP Associate to join our accounting team in Smithtown, NY. This on-site role requires a robust understanding of accounts payable processes, strong analytical skills, and a meticulous eye for detail to meet deadlines.

You will handle invoices, reconciliations, GL posting, monthly close support, and data entry with advanced Excel. A 5+ year background in AP and a Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process AP invoices and payment requests in accordance with policies.
• Perform daily reconciliations of AP transactions and maintain GL accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Assist with monthly close and posting of month-end information.
• Utilize advanced Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
• Handle ACH transactions and monitor related fees.
• Accurately perform data entry tasks.
• Investigate and resolve AP irregularities or inquiries.
• Collaborate with finance and other departments to streamline AP processes.

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent AP Associate to join our Accounting and Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a robust understanding of accounts payable processes and a strong aptitude for numbers. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, and a passion for meeting deadlines. This role requires a high level of proficiency in GL, reconciliation, entries, ledger management, advanced Excel, ACH, data entry, and invoicing. Responsibilities:

1. Processing accounts payable invoices and payment requests, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
2. Performing daily reconciliations of AP transactions and maintaining general ledger accounts.
3. Preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
4. Managing monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information.
5. Utilizing advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and creating financial models.
6. Handling ACH transactions and monitoring associated fees.
7. Performing data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
8. Investigating and resolving any irregularities or inquiries related to AP.
9. Collaborating with other finance team members and departments to streamline AP processes.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an AP role within the Accounting and Finance industry.
2. Proficiency in GL, reconciling accounts, posting entries, and managing ledgers.
3. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookups, and other functions for financial analysis.
4. Experience with ACH transactions and data entry.
5. Knowledge and understanding of invoicing processes.
6. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
7. Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
8. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
9. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
