Job summary

Southwest Airlines is seeking an Engineer to support Technical Operations by providing specialized guidance for aircraft, engine, and component repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting. You will assist AOG Service Engineering and collaborate with Maintenance Teams to safely return aircraft to service.

You will evaluate regulatory requirements, develop in-house repairs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve fleet reliability and operational continuity.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FARs with a strong emphasis on Part 25 requirements and Part 121 operations.
• Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
• Knowledge of technical data and mechanical operations.
• Ability to apply engineering science to design and production of airline support services.
• Strong data collection, organization, and visualization skills for written responses.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and process manufacturer’s service documents and regulatory requirements.
• Develop in-house repairs/modifications for SWA maintenance program.
• Improve reliability through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Production and stakeholders on projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve in-service issues.
