Job summary

Southwest Airlines is seeking a Senior Engineer to support Service Engineering, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational readiness of the fleet. You will oversee aircraft, engine, and component repairs, modifications and troubleshooting while partnering with Technical Operations to evaluate maintenance issues and develop technical solutions.

Responsibilities include developing engineering documentation, coordinating with OEM/PMAs, and mentoring junior teammates.

Qualifications

• Advanced engineering knowledge for aircraft maintenance and repair.
• Ability to interpret service documents, directives, and regulations.
• Strong analytical skills to develop technical solutions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate service documents and regulatory requirements for fleet.
• Develop in-house repairs and modifications for SWA maintenance.
• Improve reliability through root-cause analysis and corrective plans.
• Conduct cost/benefit analyses on proposals.
• Collaborate with Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Production and other Stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot in-service issues and document resolutions.
• Coordinate with OEM, STC holders, and PMA products.
• Review and approve Engineering drawings and orders.
• Mentor junior team members and train staff as needed.
• Perform additional duties as directed by leaders.
