Job summary

Southwest Airlines is seeking a Senior Engineer to support Service Engineering for fleet safety, reliability and readiness. You’ll oversee repairs and troubleshooting for aircraft on ground events while partnering with Technical Operations to craft technical solutions for complex maintenance issues.

You will apply strong engineering knowledge to deliver documentation, coordinate OEM/PMAs, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced environment at the Dallas headquarters.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Advanced level experience in Airline/OEM/MRO Engineering.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and process manufacturer service documents and regulations.
• Develop and substantiate in-house repairs and modifications for the SWA maintenance program.
• Lead reliability improvements via root-cause analysis and action plans.
• Conduct cost/benefit analyses for engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production on projects.
