Position Details

Position: Health and Physical Education Teacher (Safety/Driver Education preferred)

Reports To: Building Principal

Primary Purpose

To create a flexible secondary grade program and a positive learning environment; establish rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge; build relationships with parents and staff; and implement the curriculum effectively.

Application Requirements

Letter of interest, resume, transcripts, Pennsylvania Professional Certificate, three recommendation letters (less than one year old), Act 34, 114, 151 clearances (less than one year old), Act 24, Act 126, Act 168 disclosures.

Qualifications

• Health and Physical Education PK-12 Certification
• Safety/Driver Education 7-12 preferred
• Bachelor's Degree

Essential Functions

• Teach specified curriculum using adopted materials and activities.
• Instruct students in citizenship and basic subjects as per state law and district curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans, utilize technology, and adapt instruction to student needs.
• Follow federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies.
• Maintain classroom standards, evaluate student growth, and communicate progress.
• Collaborate with staff and parents to support student needs.
• Maintain records, create a positive classroom environment, and participate in professional development.
• Supervise students during activities and field trips.
• Administer assessments and enforce safety standards.
• Participate in meetings, training, and other school activities.
• Ensure confidentiality and safety of students.

Evaluation
