Job Description

Required Certificates and Licenses: Arizona High School Teaching Certification Required

Residency Requirements: Must reside in Arizona. This position is remote and strongly prefers candidates that reside in Arizona. May consider candidates that reside in surrounding states.

Start Date: SY25/26

The Master Teacher is a highly qualified, state-certified teacher responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. Additionally, the Lead Teacher acts as a member of the school leadership team, mentoring teachers, and supporting virtual academy efforts to improve student performance.

This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work independently for typically 40+ hours per week. A professional home office setup is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Functions as a member of the school leadership team; manages/supervises and/or mentors teachers, providing coaching and evaluation; supports efforts to improve student performance;
  • Orients teachers, communicates requirements, sets and enforces deadlines, maintains office hours to support teachers and students; understands diverse student and family characteristics;
  • Learns and demonstrates knowledge of the entire K12 curriculum for assigned grade levels, aligning it with state standards; uses asynchronous and synchronous tools;
  • Owns student academic progress and attendance, supports homeroom teachers, maintains positive relationships with families and teachers, conducts data-driven conferences;
  • Supports teachers with curricular and instructional issues, balancing curriculum flexibility with policies;
  • Focuses on ongoing tasks/projects such as recruiting, training, evaluating teachers, student-teacher matching, policy development, curriculum expertise, testing coordination, addressing attendance issues, reporting, and communication.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to teaching and learning;
  • Develops data-driven programs, collaborates with peers, promotes professional development, and shares best practices;
  • Plans professional learning activities, works towards school performance goals, liaises with parents and teachers, leads meetings, and participates in staff development;
  • Maintains student records and reports as required.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field AND
  • Three (3) years of successful teaching experience including virtual teaching OR
  • Equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to pass background check.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state and charter school laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of State Performance Standards
  • Leadership skills, strong communication, organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and student management systems
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for training, meetings, etc.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range anticipated between $47,332 and $70,998, based on experience, education, and location. Benefits may include health, retirement, and paid time off.
