Job Description

Required Certificates and Licenses: Middle School Math Teaching Certification Required AND Arizona Fingerprint Card.

Residency Requirements: Must reside in Arizona. This position is remote and strongly prefers candidates that reside in Arizona. May consider candidates that reside in surrounding states.

The Teacher is a highly qualified, state-certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. Teachers monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system. They work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance each student’s learning toward established goals. Teachers typically work from home but must travel occasionally for school functions such as state testing or as required.

This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week, is required. You must maintain a professional home office and work during standard hours (e.g., 9-5 or 8-4).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Personalizes learning for all students.
• Believes in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
• Differentiates instruction based on mastery levels.
• Uses appropriate tools to augment course content under guidance.
• Maintains grade book, makes student placement and promotion decisions, and alerts administrators to concerns.
• Prepares students for standardized tests.
• Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families; communicates regularly with students and parents.
• Supports learning coaches/parents with curricular and technical issues.
• Travel as required (approximately once per month or 20%) for professional development, testing, and school events.

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Ability to clear background check.

• Experience teaching online and/or in-person.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Ability to analyze student data and collaborate with colleagues.
