Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ invites aspiring engineers to join the Effector RF Design Department as a Summer 2027 Antenna Design Engineer Intern. You will contribute to RF antennas, radomes, and supporting test equipment within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.

The program emphasizes hands-on modeling and data analysis using HFSS, CST, FEKO, and other tools, with access to technical mentors and opportunities to shadow experienced professionals in the field.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM major and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Must have minimum 60 credit hours by start of internship/co-op.
• Proficiency with RF modeling tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi and/or GRASP.
• Experience or coursework in communication theory, microwave theory, or electromagnetic/wave theory.

Responsibilities

• Develop antenna or radome hardware and requirements.
• Collaborate with thermal, structural, mechanical, and systems teams.
• Coordinate with antenna manufacturing suppliers.
• Model and simulate antennas on workstations and HPC resources.
• Analyze simulation/measurement data to verify performance against requirements.
