Job summary

Shelter Association of Washtenaw County (SAWC) in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking a Manager of Annual Giving to develop and oversee a comprehensive annual giving program that strengthens donor engagement and revenue growth. The role reports to the Chief Development Officer and governs all appeals, grants, and donor stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of fundraising/annual giving experience.
• Proven success managing donor campaigns and crafting appeals.
• Strong written/verbal communication and grant proposal writing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the annual giving program.
• Oversee the annual fund strategy and revenue growth.
• Lead creation of annual giving appeals across direct mail, email, and digital campaigns.
• Analyze donor data to measure campaigns and identify trends.
• Collaborate with communications to ensure compelling donor content.
• Coordinate donor stewardship and recognition activities.
• Research, write, and submit grant proposals with leadership team.
• Track deadlines and reporting requirements with leadership team.
• Maintain donor and prospect records in the CRM system.
• Support donor cultivation, events, and personalized outreach.
