Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Anneal Engineer to support 300mm tool equipment and processes in the Implant department. You will keep tools running efficiently, drive yield improvements, reduce defects, and lead continuous improvement in a 24x7 FAB environment.

The role requires a BS in an engineering field and 2+ years in semiconductors, with experience in RTP/anneal tools and related equipment. On-site Taylor, TX with competitive base pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of semiconductor experience highly desired with knowledge of Thermal Anneal (RTP) processes and equipment
• Experience with troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures
• Experience with tool installation and setup
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Structured Problem-Solving (8D, 7-step, etc.)
• Able to wear clean room suit and PPE; lift < 35 lbs; FAB environment

Responsibilities

• Equipment Monitoring and Troubleshooting: observe real-time tool performance and resolve issues
• Respond to alarms and perform recovery plans with technicians
• Use software to analyze data, identify root causes, and make processing decisions
• Lead new tool qualification
• Schedule and coordinate equipment maintenance and downtime with manufacturing team
• Execute Change‑Point Management (CPM)
• Standardization & Documentation: revise SOPs and record daily tool activity
• Communicate technical updates to cross‑functional teams
• Monitor operational costs and lead cost-reduction projects
• Document and track performance metrics (yield, throughput, particle counts)
