The City of Dallas is seeking an Animal Services Supervisor to lead daily shelter operations and staff. You will oversee clerical and field personnel, enforce regulations, and ensure humane care for animals.

Responsibilities include scheduling, performance evaluations, investigating cruelty, impounds, and providing court testimony as needed. The role requires strong public education and record-keeping skills.

Formación

• Minimum 4 years of experience in animal care or customer service resolving complex issues.
• At least 1 year of supervisory/lead work experience.
• Equivalencies: an Associate degree plus 2 years of required experience including 1 year supervisory will meet requirements.
• Valid driver7s license and ability to obtain euthanasia certification within probation.
• NO Felony Drug offenses and no Animal Cruelty convictions.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises daily shelter operations and staff performance, ensuring humane care and adherence to policies.
• Creates schedules, assigns work, and manages workflows to meet objectives.
• Reviews work for quality and implements improved procedures.
• Resolves employee complaints and escalates issues as needed.
• Investigates cases of cruelty, handles impounds, and testifies in court when required.
• Educates the public on standards of care and city animal ordinances.
• Maintains records, prepares citations, and coordinates with management on procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
