Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Lead Animal Services Officer to lead lower-level animal control staff and ensure duties comply with city standards and protocols. You will oversee investigations, record-keeping, and enforcement of animal-related ordinances to protect public health and safety.

Responsibilities include training, handling bite investigations, court citations, and public education on humane care, spay/neuter, and microchip services.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of customer service or animal shelter/animal control experience.
• One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train lower-level animal control personnel to ensure activities meet City standards and protocols.
• Prepare records, gather information, and maintain files of reported bites and related documents.
• Issue violation notices and citations; may testify in court; enforce city ordinances and state laws.
