Job summary

The City of Pasadena is seeking a dedicated coordinator to manage its animal rescue, transfer and foster care programs at the City Shelter. You will recruit, train and supervise foster volunteers, conduct home visits, and coordinate transfers to breed placement groups and partner organizations.

You will work with veterinary, behavior and enrichment teams, maintain records, promote adoptions, conduct outreach, and ensure compliance with licensing and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous veterinary assistant and/or companion animal care experience is required.
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license; Basic Animal Control Certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate animal rescue, transfer and foster care programs.
• Recruit and train foster care volunteers; perform home visits.
• Coordinate transfers of animals to breed placement groups and other organizations.
• Collaborate with veterinary, behavior, evaluation and enrichment staff, volunteers and staff.
• Maintain shelter database records in a timely manner.
• Promote adoptions by matching animals with adopters and maintaining adopter database.
• Outreach to community, rescues and businesses to support foster care and fundraising.
