Animal Care Technician Typical Duties
The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) and Division of Animal Resources (DAR) invite applicants for an Animal Care Technician. Responsibilities include cleaning animal cages, disinfecting, sterilizing, and maintaining the health and husbandry of animals under direct care. The role involves daily animal observation, reporting health issues, environmental inspections, disease control, and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks. The position is Monday-Friday, with some weekend and holiday work required.
Additional duties include preparing cages, loading/unloading cages into autoclaves, handling bedding and feed, maintaining cleanliness, and monitoring equipment performance.
