Responsibilities:
- Provide and ensure the humane welfare and care of animals by providing food and water in accordance with established policies and practices.
- Maintain a healthy environment by properly cleaning and disinfecting animal cages in accordance with established disease control policies and practices.
- Humanely euthanize animals and maintain accurate written records of controlled substances in accordance with Federal Laws.
- Respond to and provide appropriate medical treatment such as: taking vitals, administering medications, and first aid to animals.
- Receive animals and maintain associated paperwork such as an inventory log, animal identification and location records, and related medical treatment records.
- Perform minor medical procedures, including but not limited to vaccinating and microchipping.

Other Job Functions:
- Observe animals for signs of disease and respond according to established policies.
- Maintain grounds and repair kennel equipment as needed.
- Remove litter, wash utensils, launder bedding, maintain stockrooms, and perform minor repairs.
- Load and unload items such as food, animal carcasses, and supplies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of disease control principles, animal behavior, and humane euthanasia methods.
- Skills in managing multiple tasks, establishing effective relationships, and communicating effectively.
- Ability to work in noisy environments, perform physical tasks, operate equipment, and maintain accurate records.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain Certified Euthanasia Technician Certification within four months of employment.
Pre-Screening Requirements: Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check, Drug and Alcohol Testing, Human Performance Evaluation, and Physical Examination.
