The Emmons Blaine Arlington Dairy Research Center is part of the Integrated Dairy Facilities for the Agricultural Research Stations at UW-Madison. This industry-leading facility was built in 2008 and is home to 500 milking cows, roughly 100 dry cows, and 100 neonatal calves. It is a sand-bedded freestall dairy facility located in Arlington Ag Research Station, 20 miles north of Madison, supporting research in nutrition, physiology, welfare, calf growth, and transition cow management.
Required: High school diploma, willingness to learn, effective communication, ability to follow instructions.
Preferred: Basic dairy milking techniques, operation of farm equipment.
40 hours/week, rotating shifts (3:30AM - 12:00PM or 1:00PM - 9:30PM), including some holidays and every other weekend.
Must lift 50 pounds, respond quickly to large animals, and perform physical activities like bending and twisting.
