Job summary

The Salvation Army in Norcross, GA is seeking a Seasonal Full Time warehouse worker to support the Christmas program. The role involves assisting the Angel Tree Coordinator, supporting registration at various corps locations, and guiding volunteers on the warehouse floor.

You will lift and stack donations, distribute items, and help with trash removal while maintaining good donor relations and helping unload trucks at the Christmas Center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift and unload materials from a truck.
• Ability to work independently and be flexible with shifts.
• Willingness to work weekends and be on call.

Responsibilities

• Assist Angel Tree Coordinator with organization and daily tasks.
• Assist other Corps locations with their registration process.
• Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center Warehouse floor.
• Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse.
• Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse. Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.
• Pick up trash, empty garbage container, and remove all trash to area for disposal.
• Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army. Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.
• Assist with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations.
• Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Work requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU: Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Must have physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from truck and in warehouse.
• Must be able to work independently and must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call weekends. Must be organized.
• Job requires considerable physical effort and may entail some pressure and fatigue.
• Proactive demeanor and willingness to work with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.
