Job summary

The Salvation Army in Norcross, GA is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support the Christmas Center operations. You will lift, load, and organize a variety of donations, unload trucks, and ensure proper placement of items while maintaining a safe, clean warehouse environment.

You will mentor dedicated volunteers, assist with registrations, and participate in angel tree pickups as needed, supporting a welcoming community service mission.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work including lifting and carrying.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and on call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Angel Tree Coordinator with organization and daily tasks.
• Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center Warehouse floor.
• Lift and stack donations; unload trucks at the Christmas warehouse.
• Distribute donations to designated areas and maintain clean, organized spaces.
• Assist with angel tree pickups and participate in related duties.
• Promote positive donor relations and uphold Salvation Army image.

This position is responsible for:Works in the Christmas center; lifts, carries, loads and unloads variety of donations that may include furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; works to promote the safety and security of the warehouse; assists with the clean up, lay out, and set up of the warehouse; assists with possible pick up from the malls or corporations, if necessary.Key Responsibilities:Assist Angel Tree Coordinator with organization and daily tasks.Assist other Corps locations with their registration process.Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center Warehouse floor.Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse.Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse. Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.Pick up trash, empty garbage container, and remove all trash to area for disposal.Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army. Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.Assist with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations. Perform other related duties incidental to work described hereinPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Work requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.Education and Experience:High School Diploma or G.E.D.Must have physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from truck and in warehouse.Must be able to work independently and must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call weekends.
