Job summary

The Salvation Army in Charlotte is seeking a warehouse associate for the Christmas Center. You will lift and stack donations, unload trucks, and help prepare spaces for donations and distribution. You may assist with angel tree pickups and participate in general warehouse maintenance and cleanup.

Ideal candidates will be physically capable, reliable, and able to work varied shifts, including weekends. A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

JOB SUMMARY:Works in Christmas center: lifts, carries, loads and unloads variety of donations that may include furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; works to promote the safety and security of the warehouse; assists with the clean up, lay out, and set up of the warehouse; assists with possible pick up from the malls or corporations, if necessary.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This job description should not be interpreted as all-inclusive. Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse. Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center. Pick up trash, empty garbage container, and remove all trash to area for disposal. Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse. Assist with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations. Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in cleaning and maintaining the Christmas warehouse and loading dock area. Assists in working in all areas of the Christmas warehouse operations as needed. Performs special projects as needed. Performs other related work as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Work requires an ability to follow instructions acquired through a partial high school education. Friendly personality. Must have physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from truck and in warehouse. Must be able to work independently and must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call weekends. Must be organized. Job requires considerable physical effort and may entail some pressure and fatigue. Proactive demeanor and willingness to work with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers. MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Ability to meet attendance requirements.
