Job summary

The Salvation Army in Norcross, GA seeks a dedicated Warehouse Worker for the Christmas Center to assist with donations, unloading trucks, stacking items, and staging goods for distribution. You will mentor volunteers on the warehouse floor, support Angel Tree operations, keep the space clean and organized, and partner with donors to promote a positive image.

Some shifts may vary and weekend on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center Warehouse floor.
• Must be able to lift and unload materials from truck and in warehouse.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Willingness to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist Angel Tree Coordinator and Angel Tree Lead Warehouse Worker with organization and daily tasks.
• Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center Warehouse floor.
• Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse.
• Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse.
• Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.
• Pick up trash, empty garbage container, and remove all trash to area for disposal.
• Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.
• Assist with angel tree pickups from the drop-off locations.
• Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.

This position is responsible for:Works in the Christmas center; lifts, carries, loads and unloads variety of donations that may include furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; works to promote the safety and security of the warehouse; assists with the clean up, lay out, and set up of the warehouse; assists with possible pick up from the malls or corporations, if necessary.Key Responsibilities:Assist Angel Tree Coordinator and Angel Tree Lead Warehouse Worker with organization and daily tasks.Mentor and assist volunteers on the Christmas Center Warehouse floor.Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse.Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse. Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.Pick up trash, empty garbage container, and remove all trash to area for disposal.Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army. Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.Assist with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations. Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Work requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.Education and Experience:High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required.Must have physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from truck and in warehouse.Must be able to work independently and must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call weekends.
