Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking three full-time Board-Certified Anesthesiology Physicians to support the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. The role focuses on efficient patient care for veterans, delivering high-quality, compassionate anesthesia services on-site.

Shifts run Monday through Friday with on-call coverage after hours, and the position is a 1099 contract. Applicants must hold an active US license, board certification, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Must have a BLS or ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• Hold an active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States or DC.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field.
• Must be a Board-Certified Anesthesia Physician.
• Must have proof of Medical Liability Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services across diverse surgical cases including cardiac, orthopedic, vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic and ophthalmologic operations.
• Deliver clinical care for patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and procedures in cath lab, EP, GI and radiology suites.
• Provide primary coverage for surgical ICU, short stay, pain management, and emergency airway management.
• Offer bedside consults when the patient is non-ambulatory and in outpatient clinics when able.
• Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with the next care setting.
• Ensure notification of test results in accordance with VHA Directive 1088.

Job Summary: Anesthesiology Physicians must be efficient, motivated, focus on patient care with our Veteran population. Anesthesiology Physicians are expected to maintain a high degree of accurate productivity and performance while working with our VA community at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. They’re required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals.

Pay Rate: $281.93 / hr

Duties

• Provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services including patients undergoing cardiac surgery, orthopedic joint replacement and major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic and ophthalmologic operations.
• Provide clinical care of patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, gastrointestinal and radiological suites.
• Provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management.
• Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory, and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic
• provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients.
• Mechanisms must be in place to provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients.

Qualifications

• Must have a BLS or ACLS from the American Heart Association
• Hold an active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field
• Must be a Board-Certified Anesthesia Physician
• Must have proof of Medical Liability Insurance

Shift

• Monday - Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Required: Must be available on call during all hours when the facility clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Standby/On-Call-Back-Hours coverage: Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm - 7:00 am
• Standby/On-Call-Back weekend coverage: Saturday 7:00 am - Monday 7:00 am
• Standby/On-Call Back Holidays: 24-hour coverage: 7:00 am - 7:00 am
