Job summary

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) seeks an Anesthesiologist to provide onsite services for eligible beneficiaries at the Salem VA Health Care System located in Salem, Virginia. The position supports a Monday–Friday schedule with early morning shifts and on-call coverage.

The role requires board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology, a current US license, and credentials including BLS/ACLS and DEA, with opportunities for full-time or locum tenens arrangements and a competitive

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in the US
• MD or DO degree
• Current BLS and ACLS
• DEA license
• Able to pass a federal background investigation

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesiology services for a range of surgical procedures
• Provide anesthesia care for ECT, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, GI, and radiology procedures
• Provide primary coverage for SICU, Short Stay Unit, and pain management services
• Perform bedside and outpatient clinic consultations
• Follow VA medication policies and procedures
• Communicate test results per VA requirements
• Document all patient care in VA EHR

• Provide comprehensive anesthesiology services for:
  • Cardiac surgery
  • Orthopedic joint replacement
  • Major vascular procedures
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Neurosurgical procedures
  • Plastic surgery
  • ENT procedures
  • Urologic surgery
  • Ophthalmologic surgery
• Provide anesthesia care for:
  • Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
  • Cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Electrophysiology procedures
  • Gastrointestinal procedures
  • Radiology suite procedures
• Provide primary coverage for:
  • Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
  • Short Stay Unit
  • Acute pain management services
  • Chronic pain management services
  • Diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography
  • Emergency airway management
• Perform bedside consultations and outpatient clinic consultations as appropriate.
• Follow VA medication policies and procedures.
• Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions to patients.
• Communicate test results in accordance with VA requirements.
• Document all patient care in the VA electronic health record system

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• No history of restricted, suspended, revoked, denied, or voluntarily surrendered licensure
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS
• NPI report printout
• Active DEA license
• Must be able to pass a federal background investigation

All candidates must be able to:

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
• Lift up to 20 lbs
• Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
• Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
