Job summary

UCLA Health and David Geffen School of Medicine is seeking an anesthesia technician to support anesthesiologists in routine and complex surgical cases. The role requires on-call availability across locations and involves set-up of monitoring equipment, IVs, and invasive lines, plus patient transport and sterile technique.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of OR/sterile processing experience, BLS certification, and preferred anesthesia tech certification or ASATT credentials.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Associate’s degree
• Required: American Heart Association BLS
• Preferred: Anesthesia Technician Certification
• Required: Two (2) years of experience in operating room/sterile processing or ASATT certification in lieu of experience for hires after Jan 1, 2023

Responsibilities

• Assists anesthesiologists for routine and complex cases
• Lifts/transfers patients to/from OR table
• Sets up non-invasive monitoring equipment (BP cuff, EKG, pulse oximeter)
• Sets up IV and arterial/central lines for invasive monitoring
• Maintains sterile field for invasive monitoring procedures
• Operates anesthesia-related equipment and instruments
• Maintains equipment maintenance and sterilization
• Supports patient transport and positioning
• Cleans/restocks service areas and supports infection-control policies
• Participates in hospital safety and departmental meetings
