UCLA Health is seeking a Surgical Technician for our Operating Rooms. You will work in life-saving procedures, ensuring patient safety and surgical excellence, and collaborating with surgeons and nursing staff to support patient care.

Responsibilities include preparing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, passing tools, and assisting with gowning and draping. Requires 2+ years of experience, surgical tech program completion, BLS, and willingness to adapt to unit needs.

Qualificações

• Graduate of Surgical Technician program (required).
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technician experience (required).
• Ability to scrub in multiple service lines (required).
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA (required).
• NBSTSA Surgical Technician certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of universal precautions, aseptic technique, OR sanitation, and department policies.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and set up surgical instrumentation and equipment per standards and surgeon cards.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure instruments and supplies are ready and functioning.
• Anticipate needs of surgical team and provide instruments promptly.
• Perform hand and arm scrubs, gowning, gloving, and setup per guidelines.
• Conduct counts with circulating nurse and assist surgeons with gowning, gloving, draping, and instrument passes.
• Maintain sterile field, track medications and solutions used within sterile field.
• Handle and identify specimens, assist with dressings and care.
• Prepare instruments for cleaning and assist with OR cleanup after procedures.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with best practices.
