Job summary

OHSU seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesiologists in the operating rooms, stocking and maintaining anesthesia supplies, and assisting with complex procedures to ensure optimal patient care. Responsibilities include equipment setup, blood product handling, and participation in malignant hyperthermia readiness.

Requires BLS within 30 days and an appropriate health-related education background to join a busy academic setting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in a health-related field with coursework in Anatomy, Physiology and Chemistry.
• Completed 2 years full-time college-level courses including Anatomy, Physiology and Chemistry.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or prior to independent practice.

Responsibilities

• Assists anesthesia provider with a wide variety of procedures in the OR.
• Maintains and restocks anesthesia instruments and supplies; handles blood products.
• Performs setup and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and related devices; supports patient care.
