Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists. The role focuses on setup, care, and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, and basic testing of related supplies.

Responsibilities include stocking, organizing inventory, coordinating with Purchasing and Biomedical Engineering for preventive maintenance, and assisting in patient care tasks when needed. Onsite, day shift, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Previous anesthesia technician experience preferred.
• Self-directed work style and ability to follow hospital policies.
• Ability to assist anesthesia teams and staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists in clinical activities not involving direct patient care or medications.
• Clean, care for, and maintain anesthesia equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Inventory and order supplies from purchasing, storeroom, and pharmacy.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Biomedical Engineering for maintenance and service.
• Perform light maintenance and calibrations on equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Coordinate with Biomedical Engineering to ensure JCAHO compliance.
• Manage stock records for budget verification and justification.
• Assist in basic nursing care and patient activities of daily living as needed.
