Job summary

Astir IT Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Android Developer to design, implement, test, and maintain Android mobile applications using Java, Kotlin, XML, and Jetpack Compose. The role requires adherence to coding standards and collaboration with teams to deliver secure, production-ready apps.

Qualifications

• Experience in Android application development in a production environment.
• Proficiency with Java, Kotlin, XML, and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Gradle and multi-module Android projects.
• Knowledge of Android security concepts, biometrics, and secure storage.
• Experience with RESTful web services, JSON, and XML is desirable.
• Experience testing and distributing Android apps; banking/security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide full life cycle development of Android mobile applications using Java, Kotlin, XML, and Jetpack Compose.
• Understand coding standards and implement them within code being developed.
• Troubleshoot problems and provide solutions.
• Communicate with users to determine problems or design requirements.
• Work on a team to complete programming projects in a timely manner.
• Document changes and follow the Systems Development Life Cycle process independently.
• Maintain and enhance production banking applications for Android.
• Develop and support Kotlin/Jetpack Compose features and wearables.
• Work with multi-module Gradle projects, app flavors, build types, signing, and distribution.
• Support Firebase Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics, biometrics, secure storage, payments, and SDKs.
• Participate in testing, release validation, production diagnosis, and incident response.
• Other duties assigned by the Manager of Application Development.
