Job summary

OwlSure is seeking an experienced Android developer to own the full life cycle of banking-oriented mobile apps using Java, Kotlin, XML, and Jetpack Compose. You will implement coding standards, troubleshoot issues, and communicate requirements with users while collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining production apps, distributing through Google Play, and integrating Firebase, Crashlytics, biometrics, and secure storage. Strong QA and SDLC discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Android application development and Android Studio environment.
• Knowledge of Java, Kotlin, XML, and Jetpack Compose.
• Production-grade native Android apps; banking or security experience preferred.
• Experience with Gradle, multi-module projects, product flavors, and release troubleshooting.
• Understanding Android security concepts, biometrics, and secure credential handling.
• Experience supporting legacy Android code while adopting current platform features.
• Experience writing or maintaining unit, integration, UI, or release-validation tests.
• Experience with RESTful web services, JSON, and XML is desirable.
• Experience building, testing, and distributing Android and iOS apps is desirable.
• Ability to communicate with both business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide full life cycle development of Android apps using Java, Kotlin, XML, and Jetpack Compose.
• Understand coding standards and implement them within developed code.
• Troubleshoot problems and provide solutions.
• Communicate with users to determine problems or design requirements.
• Work on a team to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Document changes and follow the SDLC process independently.
• Multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Maintain and enhance production banking apps for Android.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Java/XML while developing Kotlin/Compose features.
• Work with multi-module Gradle projects, flavors, environment types, signing, and Play distribution.
• Support Firebase Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics, biometrics, secure storage, payments, and SDKs.
• Support Android phone and Wear OS apps, including Kotlin and Compose wearables.
• Participate in testing, release validation, production diagnosis, incident response, and issue documentation.
• Other duties assigned by the Manager of Application Development.
